An 18th century 10 seater Farmhouse Table

An 18th century French provincial farmhouse table, the solid oak top made from thick and well-burnished planks retaining a rich patination, above square-section legs joined by an ‘H’ stretcher. Fitted with a later-fitted shallow drawer at one of the ends. Note the wear of feet on the stretcher rail, and on the underside, the bow-saw marks of its early construction technique. Area of Normandy, circa 1780.
