A vintage French gilt wrought iron and tole-work five light, Maison Charles design 'wheat' chandelier, decorated (in an allegory of 'Prosperity') as a bouquet of wheat stalks and foliage tied together by a metal rope. In France, this design of light is referred to as a "Coco Chanel" light, deriving from the original "wheat sheaf" coffee table designed by Salvador Dali for Coco Chanel's Parisian apartment. Retaining the original ceiling cup. Area of Paris, circa 1960.
