A 19th century French Louis XV style gilt bronze Salon chandelier, the circular body hanging from the original gilt bronze chains, decorated with fretted foliate scrollwork, a frosted glass panel sitting below a central fitting with six lights. Fitted with a freshly recovered ivory silk shade. Of wonderful proportions and with jewellery like, cast and chased gilt bronze foliate decorative elements. Retaining its original fretted, gilt bronze foliate pattern ceiling rose. Area of Paris, circa 1880.
