A set of four Louis XVI style 'Montgolfier' dining chairs of wonderful design and proportions, each finely carved and painted chair fitted with a 'hot air balloon' shaped backrest. Please note: The Montgolfier Brothers were famous for having flown the first hot air balloon in 1783, which gave rise to the late 18th century fashion for balloon-shaped Montgolfier chairs in France. Area of Paris, circa 1930. 

Condition report: In good and original, unrestored condition. The old velvet fabric is worn but in usable condition. Please feel free to ask for a restoration quote from our workshop.
