A large and wide, French Napoleon III period, Louis XVI style solid cherrywood extendable dining table, standing on eight turned and tapering legs retaining their original brass tips. The four central legs support the long span when the table is fully open. They are stepped in from the outer edges, to allow for comfortable leg-room. For comfort of storage, this table closes down to a small oval top, which can be reduced further in size by using the drop-leaves. Area of Paris, circa 1870.
