An 18th century French farmhouse table, the well-burnished top made from a single plank of solid oak retaining a rich patina, standing above massive baluster-shaped legs joined by an ‘H’ stretcher. Please note the wonderful character of the wear on the top, and also the good height of the table, which is typical for kitchen work-tables of this period. Area of Calvados, Normandy, circa 1780.
