A mid 19th century French Napoleon III period, cross-banded and book-matched tulipwood library/ salon table, the oval top with raised edges and decorated with a large cross-cut 'rosette' pattern, standing on elegant Cabriole legs. Each side of the table is fitted with a shallow drawer, each end with a pull-out slide retaining its original gilt edge leather insert. Please note the understated elegance of this table and the wonderfully faded colours of the original patina. Retaining the original gilt brass pulls and 'sabot' feet. Area of Paris, circa 1860.
