A fine and elegant, early 20th century French Empire style Standard Lamp in the shape of a carved and turned white Carrara marble column, decorated with large acanthus leaves, gilt brass 'fasces' , with swag motifs and with gadrooned mouldings. The top fitted with two frosted and cut glass hemispheres that together form a sphere, containing the light bulbs. Area of Paris, circa 1930.
