A set of six 19th century French Directoire style finely carved and painted dining chairs, the back-rests in the shape of Classic temple fronts with 'palmette' finials, standing on tapering and fluted legs carved with mouldings and paterae motifs. Note the wonderful, Montgolfier-shaped seats with 'petit point' upholstery. Area of Paris, circa 1880.

Price is for the set of six chairs.

Condition report: In good and original, unrestored condition, showing slight wear in keeping with its age. The petit point upholstery may be usable after a steam clean.
