A fine pair of early 20th century French Louis XVI style carved and gilded "Fauteuil" armchairs of understated elegance, decorated with haut-relief carved Neoclassical motifs, including paterae, acanthus ;eaves, string-of-pearl and 'woven rope" mouldings. Note the wonderful, classical proportions and the masculine character of these armchairs. Area of Paris, circa 1900.

This item due to arrive in Melbourne around the middle of 2021.

Condition report: In good and original condition, showing slight wear in keeping with its age. The upholstery may be salvaged with professional cleaning, but will most likely need replacing.
