A mid 19th century French Napoleon III period, Louis XIV style oak side table, the moulded-edge top with a carved bas-relief egg-and-dart pattern, the rails decorated with carved acanthus leaf patterns, standing on four elegantly turned 'barley twist' legs, joined by a 'barley twist' ‘H’ stretcher. Note the wonderful square-pattern parquetry of the well-burnished top. Area of Isle de France (Greater Paris), circa 1870.
