A 19th century French majolica plate, the raised decorations hand painted in natural colour glazes, the shaped rim depicting stylised flowers and leaves around a central 'tableau' with children on a see-saw. The colours and motifs are typical of the pottery of Onnaing. Area of Northern France, circa 1870.
