A 19th century French Napoleon III period cast and chased bronze sculpture of a setter dog attributed to Jules Moigniez (28 May 1835 – 29 May 1894), a French 'animalier' sculptor, known for his fine bronzes depicting birds, dogs and horses. Jules Moigniez exhibited at the 'Paris Salon' and at the 'Expositions Universelles' of Paris. This cast bronze retains an excellent patina, and stands on its original shaped and moulded marble plinth. Area of Senlis (Oise), circa 1870.
