A large, mid 19th century French Napoleon III period cast iron crucifix, the Madonna depicted on a cross of rough logs decorated with climbing ivy, the plinth standing on a bed of reeds. Provenance: a deconsecrated chapel graveyard in Isle de France (Greater Paris), circa 1860.

Condition report: In good and original, unrestored condition, showing surface wear in keeping with its age and outdoor use.
