A 19th century Art Nouveau period majolica jug decorated with whimsical, haut-relief birds sitting on branches, the body of the jug with a stylised basketweave. The underside stamped with the hallmark of Mouzin Lecat pottery. The colours and motifs are typical of the pottery of the work of 19th century potters from the areas of Northern France and Southern Belgium. Area of Nimy, Belgium, circa 1880.
