A "Coq Gaulois" Majolica Pitcher

An early 20th century French glazed majolica wine and water pitcher in the shape of a rooster, fitted with a tail-shaped handle, each of the sides of the pitcher inscribed with “le coq gaulois” and "chantecler pour la France ". The wine/water is poured from its beak. Work from Faiencerie de Onnaing, Northern France, circa 1920.

This item is due in Melbourne later in 2021.
