An elegant and simple early 19th century, French Restauration period 'Gueridon' table, the turned top and the middle shelf with raised edges, standing on a tripod plinth. This period of French furniture design furniture is known for its pared-down simplicity and its Neoclassical designs. Originally made for use as 'Travailleuse' table, as a knitting/ sewing work table, this gueridon is very suited to be used as a wine table. Charles X period, area of Isle de France (Greater Paris), circa 1820.
