A 19th century French draper's (or tailor's) work table, the solid oak top with bread-ends, standing on four baluster-turned legs which support a lower platform shelf. A shallow drawer retaining its original cast iron handle is fitted to the centre of one of the long rails. Area of Isle de France (Greater Paris), circa 1880.
Please note, this table can be used as an entrance hall table but also as a kitchen's island workbench.
