An 18th century French provincial, solid oak farmhouse table, the well-burnished top made from a single plank, retaining a rich oak patina, above massive, baluster shaped square-section legs joined by an ‘H’ stretcher. Please note the character of the wear of the top, its excellent overhangs, and also the good height of the table, typical for a dining/ kitchen work-table of this period. Area of Western Normandy, circa 1780.
