A large, 19th century French farmhouse table, the well-burnished solid beechwood top made from four thick planks fitted with 'bread-ends', standing on four sturdy, square-section legs joined by stretchers. Please note the excellent width and the good height of this table, typical for a dining/ refectory table of this period and from this area of Normandy. Area of Calvados, Northwest France, circa 1840.
