An 18th century French Regence period farmhouse table, the top made from three thick and well-burnished oak planks. Please note the early construction techniques, using internal dowelled tenons to hold the planks of the top and with the chamfered legs joined by simple stretchers. The oak timbers are very nicely worn and burnished by many generations of use. Area of Lower Normandy, circa 1740.
