A large 19th century French farmhouse table, the very well-burnished and soft-coloured solid beechwood top made from four thick planks fitted with 'bread-ends', standing on four sturdy, square-section legs joined by stretchers. A hanging-drawer is fitted at one of the ends. Please note the excellent width and the good height of the table, typical for a dining/ kitchen work-table. Area of Calvados, Northwest France, circa 1840.
