A 19th century French farmhouse table of Classical proportions, the solid oak top with wide planks and with 'bread-ends' standing on graceful, square-section tapering legs, the shallowness of the long rails and the good overhangs at the ends allowing for comfortable leg-room. The top has subtle markings from generations of wear and tear, the underside showing its early, jointed and pegged construction technique. Please note the excellent patina of the oak timbers. Area of the Loire Valley, circa 1880.
