A 19th century French farmhouse kitchen table from the area of Lower Normandy, built with its typically thick top and large overhangs, and fitted with corbels and with a traditional 'H' stretcher base between its four chamfered legs. The wide tabletop is made from three, 4.5 cm thick beechwood planks. The well-burnished and original surfaces were originally and deliberately left in the raw (like chopping-board like surface). During restorations, surfaces can just be cleaned back or they can be wax-polished. Area of Lower Normandy, circa 1850.
