A French Louis XIV style solid oak Refectory table, the top with an exceptional thickness, standing on two shaped uprights joined by a simple stretcher. The table can be taken completely apart for ease of transport. Typically for the Arts and Crafts Movement, the cabinetmaker who built this table used recycled 18th century architectural timbers, hence the feel of great age in the patina. Please note the hand-plane and adze marks throughout the table's surfaces. Area of Normandy, circa 1880.
