A rare, early 20th century Veuve Perrin style glazed earthenware soup tureen, decorated in the French Louis XV style, the Rococo body and lid with raised foliate and Rocaille decorations, the handles in the shape of foliate scrolls, the off-white background with "petit feu" glazed decorations, including flower bouquets, courting couples in stylised landscapes and hand painted mouldings. The lid with an arrangement of fruit. The underside is stamped with the VP initials of the Veuve Perrin manufacturer. Area of Marseille, circa 1920.
