A 19th century blown glass wine and cider decanter from the area of Northern Normandy, retaining its original, typical 'mushroom' glass stopper. As opposed to decanters used in a bistro, which didn't have a stopper (on the assumption that the cider would be drunk in one sitting), this decanter was made for a private home, hence it was made with a stopper. Area of Calvados, circa 1850.
