A rare and large sized 19th century French blown glass cooling decanter fitted with an elegant pouring spout, made with an internal 'pocket' designed to keep the water and wine cool, and to do so without diluting the contents. The pale green glass is thin and with a wonderful translucence. Retaining its cork stoppers. Area of Normandy, circa 1870.
