An exceptional 19th century French Napoleon III period, Louis XIV style Tabouret stool, the finely carved solid carved walnut legs square-section and tapering, joined by a shaped 'X' stretcher. The stool is decorated with haut-relief carved Classical elements including gadrooning, paterae and acanthus leaf motifs. The original patina is nicely burnished and faded. Retaining the original tapestry and bronze studs. Area of Paris, circa 1870.
