A long French Oak Coffer Bench

A long and narrow 18th century French oak coffer bench with a simply-designed 'ladder' back and shaped arms, the seat with a hinged lid above a coffer-compartment. Area of Normandy, circa 1780.

Condition report: Complete and in as-found condition. There is some looseness of structure, the hinges needing repairs. The timbers are presently very dry, with a wonderful, driftwood like appearance.

Dimensions: 200 x 42 cm, height of back 85 cm.
