A French Louis XV style painted and parcel-gilt tabouret stool of excellent proportions, the upholstered seat flanked by carved and shaped, raised sides. Decorated with stylised haut-relief foliate motifs, standing on elegantly shaped 'Cabriole' legs. In France, this type of stool was typically used in a bathroom setting. Area of Paris, circa 1900.

Condition report: In good and original, unrestored condition, showing slight surface wear in keeping with its age. Requiring small touch ups, the fabric requiring steam cleaning.
