A 19th century French asparagus drainer with its separate platter, the glazed 'Barbotine' majolica wonderfully decorated with haut-relief and painted asparagus on a background of stylised foliate motifs. Please note: the top section has drain holes to allow the asparagus' water to drip onto the tray below. Area of Luneville, Sarreguemines, Eastern France, circa 1880.
