A 19th century French Louis XV style glazed earthenware bowl, the body with raised foliate and Rocaille decorations, the handles in the shape of foliate scrolls. The off-white background is hand-painted with "petit feu" glazed decorations including flower bouquets, courting couples set in stylised landscapes and Rocaille mouldings. The underside is stamped with the VP initials of the Veuve Perrin manufacturer. Area of Marseille, circa 1900.
