A 19th century French cast and enamelled iron chef's press, used for squeezing juice out of fruit and vegetables and also for use as a duck and general meat press. The flywheel above the press turns so as to apply pressure to the inside of the perforated barrel. The four feet have holes for anchoring the press to a tabletop. Area of Paris, circa 1900.
