A fine Parisian Cushion Mirror

A very fine, mid 19th century French Napoleon III period, Regence style, gilt pastille-work octagonal-shaped 'Cushion' mirror of excellent proportions. The frame is decorated with finely carved foliate motifs and a flower swag, the corners with fretted foliate motifs, the outsized crest with a central 'Cartouche' motif. Retaining the original gilt finish and all the original, bevelled mirror plates. Area of Paris, circa 1870.

Condition report: In good and original, as-found condition, showing wear in keeping with its age. Requiring cleaning and small repairs and touch-ups. Please note: the original mirror plates are foxed and dulled by time. Please feel free to discuss with us the options of removal and preservation of these original mirror plates, and of this mirror being fitted with replacement mirror plates.
