A large pair of 19th century French copper, brass and cast iron street 'Gasolier' lanterns, retaining their finely cast iron brackets decorated with typical scrollwork patterns, the lanterns with their original gas pipes and cast iron plinths. A door opens in each lantern, to access the interior. Please note, these are designed to be all-weather outdoor lights. Area of Paris, circa 1880.

Condition report: Complete and in good condition, showing wear from being used outdoors. Requiring to be rewired to Australian safety standards.
