A pair of large 19th century French Provincial, Napoleon III period, wrought iron 'chenet' fire dogs showing the rivets and ties of their hand-worked construction, well-patinated by time and wear. Please note the very high-quality wrought iron work in the twist-turned uprights and in the stylised foliate elements, typical of an object made for a Normandy chateau.  Area of Normandy, circa 1860.

Condition report: In excellent and original, unrestored condition.
Dimensions: Overall height 67 cm, width of each 40 cm, depth 54 cm.
