An elegant and masculine, early 19th century French Louis Philippe period book-matched cherrywood commode-bureau retaining its original, nicely-faded finish, the façade with four drawers of which the the top two open as a drop-front desk, to reveal an internal bureau fitted with small drawers and pigeon-holes. Retaining the original "Gris Saint Anne" dark grey and veined marble top, decorated with reeded edges. Area of Isle de France (Greater Paris), circa 1830.
