A mid 18th century French, Louis XV period, solid oak five-drawer commode of excellent proportions (the fifth drawer is hidden between the top two), the serpentine front with carved and raised drawer mouldings, the oak timbers nicely burnished and with the original, luminous patina. Please note the excellent quality of the large gilt bronze handles and escutcheons. Showing the early construction tool-marks on the inside and at the rear. Area of Paris, circa 1750.
