An early 19th century French Empire period solid walnut 'Commode' chest of drawers retaining its original gilt brass handles and fine 'Cornucopia' escutcheons, featuring horns of abundance. The typically formal facade with half-turned walnut pilasters, plinths and capitols. The walnut timbers retain a wonderful, soft patination. Area of isle de France (Greater Paris) circa 1810.
