A fine, early 19th century French First Empire period commode, the flame mahogany façade cut from the same log, retaining an excellent and original colour. Decorated all of its original fire-gilt bronze 'lions' head' handles, fretted escutcheons, pilasters’ capitols and plinths and laurel wreath paterae. Standing on finely carved and painted lions’ paws feet decorated with gilt 'palmette' motifs. Fitted with its original black ‘Saint Anne’ fossilised marble top, in excellent condition.
