A 19th century French Napoleon III period, Louis XVI style mahogany and gilt brass mounted 'Meuble d'Entre Deux', a tall and narrow Pier Cabinet which was normally placed in a narrow space in a room, for example between two windows. The top is fitted with its original grey marble insert and is framed by a raised and fretted gilt brass gallery, above three shallow drawers and a two-door cupboard, standing on turned and tapering feet. Retaining all the original gilt brass Neoclassical escutcheons, working locks and keys. Area of Paris, circa 1870.
