A pair of 19th century French Napoleon III period, Louis XVI style, carved and parcel-gilded solid walnut chairs, the backrests with shaped crests decorated with haut-relief carved acanthus leaf mouldings and gadrooned mouldings surmounted by large and fretted laurel wreaths, standing on tapering and fluted legs. Please note the harmonious, Neoclassical proportions. Area of Paris, circa 1870.
