A late 18th century French Directoire period solid cherrywood four drawer, three door Buffet d'Enfilade, decorated with flat pilasters and with finely inlaid ebony stringing in geometric patterns. Standing on tapering, square section legs with gilt brass finials. Note the slight (and graceful) bowing from age at the centre of the buffet. The solid timbers are well-burnished and retain a wonderful, pale patina. Area of Isle de France (Greater Paris) circa 1790.
