A fine, 19th century French Napoleon III period, Louis XV style solid oak "Buffet Deux-Corps" decorated with a "Chapeau de Gendarme" pediment, haut relief carved scrolled and circular mouldings (typical of the area of Pays de Caux), retaining the original and luminous oak patination. The four doors open up completely including the central door-transoms, making this piece ideally suited as a TV/ stereo cabinet. Please note that this piece of furniture comes apart in two parts and that the doors and shelves can be lifted off, for ease of transport. Area of Pays de Caux (Upper Normandy), circa 1860.
