A long and shallow, 18th century French solid cherrywood and walnut Buffet d’Enfilade sideboard fitted with three central panelled doors above simple Cabriole legs. Decorated with delicate and whimsical haut-relief carved foliate motifs and shaped mouldings. The timbers retain their original and nicely faded patina. Retaining the original brass knobs on the drawers. Please note: the original owner of this buffet was a cheese-maker, and above the lockable central drawer there is a slot cut out in the top, through which money was dropped in. Area of Poix-en-Picardie, Northern France, circa 1770.
