An early 20th century French painted wrought iron and repouseed metal "Etabli de Boulanger" (a baker's stand) of wonderful design and of good and shallow proportions, the flanks elegantly curved. Decorated with foliate scrolls on the waist and pelmet, the uprights with turned metal finials. Presentation "etablis" were used, and still are, by French Patisseries and Boulangeries to display baguette loaves, cakes and all kinds of baked products. They also make wonderful display stands for objects, books, wine bottles & glasses or plants. Retaining the original, curved-end glass for the shelves. Area of Provence, circa 1920.
