A fine 19th century French Louis XVI style two-door inlaid tulipwood cabinet, the facade with two doors decorated with marquetry inlaid bouquets of flowers tied with knotted bows. Retaining the original marble top edged by a raised gilt brass gallery, the original escutcheons and 'sabaud' feet mounts and its internal shelf. Area of Paris, circa 1870. Please note: attached to the interior of a door, this cabinet has the original maker's tag inscribed with "Krieger, Paris".
Maison Krieger was founded in 1826 by Antoine Krieger, who won awards at the 1849 Exposition des Produits de l'Industrie in Paris and at the Exposition Universelle of 1851 in London, for the high quality of his pieces.
