An elegant, 19th century French Louis XVI style carved and painted 'sellette' vase and statuette stand, the circular top with a Siena marble insert, standing on three shaped legs joined by a circular shelf fitted with finely-woven rattan. The stand is decorated with haut-relief carved Neoclassical motifs including fluting, paterae, delicate acanthus leaf and continuous-ribbon mouldings. Area of Paris, circa 1870.
