A Louis XV ‘Corbeille’ Queen Bed

A fine, early 20th century French Louis XV style carved and painted beechwood queen size bed, comprising a bed head, a ‘Corbeille’ footer and original, carved side rails. The width allows for a queen-bed size mattress, but the side rails may need to be sympathetically lengthened to accommodate a standard Australian queen-bed mattress length. Area of Paris, circa 1930.

Condition report: In good and unrestored condition.

Dimensions: Exterior width 156 cm, height of bed head 122 cm, footer 70 cm. Internal width 147 cm.
